When I look at my previous posts I see how much my knowledge of English sucks. There are SO many mistakes in the way I write. But hey, who cares, no one ever reads all this stuff anyways. i don't like when people read what I write, but when I write in English this feeling is even worse. Wow, that sounded gay. I don't even look at the screen when I type, that's why I let so many mistakes slip. But the problem is not the grammar or spelling mistakes, but logical sense mistakes. Sometimes I write stuff that don't make any sense. I don't know, maybe I'm just lazy to study more English.
Today I visited an intersting website, it has samples of people from all over the world reading the same sentence in english. The goal of this website is to show that people don't read english wrong, but instead there's always a pattern that people from different places follow accordingly to their native language. That's actually very obvious, but it's fun to hear people who say that they've been studying english for so many years actually read so poorly. Oh well, it's not their fault. Even some native english speakers mispronounced words. A girl said "stake"instead of "snake". The worst of the ones I hear was one from a woman from Bahia, Brazil. I think she didn't pronounce even two words right. I don't know why she tried to read that if she didn't know english. I didn't see a lot of them, but it's cool.
Here's the website http://classweb.gmu.edu/accent/
By the way you need QuickTime to hear the samples. Have fun. That's it for now. Bye

We went to Oshkosh, WI last week (08/12/04) because of the international Pathfinder Camporee. My brother and my sister left on Monday with the church's coach. My mom and I left on Thursday morning, at about some 4 AM. I don't know exactly how far it was, I think it was about 1200 miles from Worcester!
We arrived there on Friday at noon!!! Wow, imagine being some 30 hours on the road, but then again we stopped to sleep at 10 PM and woke up at 5 AM. Oh man, I was feeling so wasted. My mom drove the first 200 hundred miles and I drove all the rest. I wanted to get there as early as possible, because it sucks to be on the road, it's so tiring. We visited Niagara Falls, and it was so cool, I had never been there before. People say that the Iguazu Falls are the most monstrous in the world, even bigger than Niagara, I don't know cuz I had never been there either, even though it isn't that far away from Sao Paulo. At a certain time I thought we were going to CANADA, cuz we walked across this bridge and I thought that the other side was Canada, but it was just an island in the middle of the river!!! HEHEHEHEHHE. We got to see the Skylon Tower, it's pretty neat. But it was even funnier to meet all the people half way through the US so far away from home. I don't hang out that much with the people from church, so I just kept wandering around on my own!!!AHUAHUAHAUHAUAH!
There were 30 thousand people camping. Pretty cool!. They have a website with the Pictures from the Camporee, click here to see it I tried to find the picture they took with me on Friday, but I couldn't find it (there are millions of photos) . If you find it, please let me know and leave a message. The picture I was in was taken on Friday, and they've got pics from all of the days.
We left the camping grounds to go back home at about 4 AM on Sunday. Everybody was sleeping and I parked the car in the middle of the tents. It would have been funny if I started sounding the horn and stepping on the gas. LOL. So we drooooooove for such a freaking long time. We arrived in Chicago at 8 central. Man that city is so charming, and well planned out. I saw the Sears Tower and some other cool buildings, and it is true that the Lake looks like the sea ( I thought my teacher was only bragging when she told me that Lake Michigan looked like the ocean). It was cool to be on the same streets in which they shot some cop movies. We passed by the Bulls' stadium and then we left. We didn't get to see that much of Chicago, but it was cool anyways. We'll probably go back there some other day, I think Chicago is even better than NYC, only the traffic in Chicago is a pain.
We got home at 3 AM. I drove all the way from New York (not the city), crossed Connecticut and I got home in Massachusetts. I was so tired I couldn't even see right. I probably looked like a zombie. I fell asleep as soon as I hit the bed. But the trip was very nice. We visited all these states: Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin....

Heeeeeey, today was cool cuz I won a breakfast basket. I don't think these baskets are as common in the US, as they are in Brazil, but there might be a new market coming out with the baskets (but of course that the person who startes this business of breakfast baskets is Brazilian). This is how I got the basket:
There's a Brazilian show on the radio that goes on WORC 1310 of Worcester, and I call them sometimes to be famous among the Brazilian community that listens to the show, LMAO. Anyways, on the day of the final of the Copa America or "America Cup", (which is a soccer championship for the natianal teams of all South American teams) the hosts of the show were going to give away a basket to whoever got the final score of the game Brasil x Argentina right. I guessed that it was going to be 2x1 Brazil, but the actual game came out to be 2x2 (with a freaking goal of salvation by the Brazilian Adriano at the 48th minute of the second half. Soccer games finish at 45 minutes, but if there are too many interruptions, the ref will give some extra minutes). The game then went to Penalty kicks and all, the final score was 5x3 Brazil, so I didn't get the right results. So last week I called them and asked if anyone had gotten the right score, but no one could possibly have guessed the right thing. And then I kept bugging them to give me the basket, since no one claimed it, and my guess was pretty close. So then they told me that if I knew the answer to a riddle, they would give me the basket. Here's the riddle
I got it right off the bat, well I'd already heard the answer to that riddle, but it wasn't with a lily. So one week later I got the basket, and it had a party balloon saying "Happy Father's Day" LMAO, that was cheap!!!! There were some nice stuff in the basket though, like some Brazilian products that I hadn't eaten in a looong time (I won't say what the stuff was, cuz nobody will probably know what I'm talking about) ... But the fun part was getting on the guy's nerves so that they would give me the damn basket!!!
By the way, I won't say what the answer to the riddle is, let's see if anyone will get it right!!!

Here are some pictures of me. I decided to come back with this blog in English, not because I missed it, but because my dad told me that he was impressed with my English, and that this was cool and it looked kinda professional. So if you're reading this you might want to add this blog to your bookmarks so you can come back here and see what's new. This blog is completely ok with anything you want to say, so if you just want to criticize me, I'll take that too, but I would appreciate if you could at least be nice when referring to me.
I thought that the "Uel Radio" was the coolest thing on this blog, if you want to listen to it, just click on that ol' record player at the top right. And if you don't like a song that is on the list, or would like to request a song, just leave me a message, there's a special thread for the songs, but you can ask for them in any of the commentators, LOL. Since this is the first post with a subject you could tell me what you thought about it, or just tell me what you think about this blog. Alright everyone, enough for now, this is very time-taking, and it doesn't reward me in any way, yet. So by for now, see ya later.
